OLIVIA KEMP’S WORK WILL FEATURE IN ‘PRINCE AND PATRON’ AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE

The Where That Was’, commissioned by AFG for Olivia Kemp’s exhibition in Guernsey, is personally selected by His Highness Prince Charles to be part of ‘Prince & Patron’, an exhibition celebrating the 70th birthday of the Prince and showcasing the most promising contemporary British artists along with the best artworks of the Royal Collection at Buckingham Palace. The Royal Collection comes to Guernsey to pick up the artwork and AFG is invited to the private view at Buckingham Palace

CHRIS RIDDELL – LITERARY BEARDS

AFG curates Literary Beards at the Guille-Allès Library, showcasing 12 Chris Riddell drawings recently acquired in support of the new children’s library. The original drawing of Guille and Allès is donated by AFG to the library and displayed permanently on its walls

LAUNCH OF THE NEW ARTS STRATEGY WORKING GROUP

AFG is invited by the Guernsey Community Foundation to play a leading role in defining the New Arts Strategy for the arts in Guernsey. David Ummels takes the lead in writing a key submission

SUBMISSION OF THE GUERNSEY ICONIC ART VENUE PROPOSAL

The AFG team participates in the Seafront Enhancement Area Programme and submits its plan to create the Guernsey Iconic Art Venue in St Peter Port

Art in School, our innovative art-lending programme, officially starts. Museum-quality artworks are made freely available to 18 local schools

Olivia runs workshops in seven different schools with Nikki Gardham, head scout of the Royal Drawing School

OLIVIA KEMP – ART FOR GUERNSEY 2

Art for Guernsey 2, AFG’s main event – an exhibition of drawings, with proceeds going to good causes, results in community engagements with the artist (school visits and workshops) and 1,500 visitors, and is a resounding commercial success with more than 17 artworks sold

GUERNSEY CHESHIRE HOME – SECOND SUMMER ART PROJECT

AFG arranges funding for all the costs of the eight-week collective art project at the home, with outdoor visits twice a week, resulting in a collective artwork to be displayed during Art for Guernsey 2

COLLEGE OF FE PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS – THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS

AFG sponsors the annual performance of the College of FE performing arts students, making the show freely accessible to more than 2,000 local children

AFG and the Sovereign Art Foundation start their collaboration – AFG will provide RDS scholarships to two Guernsey art students each summer, for a life-changing experience
