Seventeen original artworks were on show from Charlie’s and her husband Magnus’s children’s book, The Invasion of the Wavelets. A short film of a shadow play created by local children during a series of workshops with the artist was also shown. The book, which was released as part of the exhibition, is an original folk tale based on the stories and traditions from Marie de Garis’s Folklore of Guernsey. The Invasion of the Wavelets follows a young Guernsey boy, Jem, as he battles to save the island and the girl he loves, Marie, from a Merfolk invasion.

Art for Guernsey has been a very rewarding experience. Art for Guernsey has done an excellent job of showcasing young talent and making art accessible to the whole community, and we feel that anything we can do to help young artists bring their work into Guernsey schools and the wider public has got to be a good thing for all parties. We look forward to continuing our support.”
