The Opportunity
A unique and varied role managing the day-to-day operations of a vibrant gallery and community art-inspired initiatives, and supporting the non-executive Chair and Founder.
Background
Art for Guernsey LBG is a charitable initiative managed by a team of passionate professionals who share a belief in the power of art to achieve wider societal goals. The team believes that Guernsey possesses an incredible set of community values and unique integrity.
Founded in 2016 by David Ummels in response to these special assets, acting for the community is in Art for Guernsey’s DNA. It is what motivates us to work for the greater good to bring people together, provide educational opportunities through multi-curricular projects, enrich lives through social prescribing, support local artists and welcome visiting artists whilst nurturing creativity, promoting cultural diplomacy and creating an artistic legacy for Guernsey. Art for Guernsey, which includes Arts for Impact, is driven by a strong desire to create opportunities for islanders to engage in art to satisfy a wide range of needs and desires.
Opened in 2022, our gallery is in the heart of St Peter Port’s Old Quarter, a location which has given us a unique opportunity to provide a much-needed, long-awaited key asset for the island, which was desperately short of curating, workshop and meeting space.
