SUPPORT US, MAKE A DONATION

As you may be aware, a major new exhibition, Renoir in Guernsey, 1883, will open in Guernsey on 30 September this year. The only Renoir exhibition in the world in 2023, it will celebrate the 140th anniversary of Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s stay in Guernsey and the inspiration that he found on the island, and will be staged in partnership with the Guernsey Museums and the Musée des Impressionnismes Giverny, including a host of significant international loans.

Art for Guernsey has been planning this project for three years and has kept within budget up to now. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, logistical and transportation costs have escalated, and now we unfortunately find ourselves in the position of being over budget.

We believe that investing in our youth is investing in the future of Guernsey, and education has always been at the heart of what we do. We remain committed to inviting every student in the Bailiwick, from 4-year-olds in Reception to those studying at the College of Further Education – potentially up to 10,500 – to see this exhibition free of charge, but we are appealing for your support. After more than 80 events where we have welcomed every student whose school or college has engaged with us, without charge and without asking for any financial help, for the first time we are trying to raise funds for our education programme in relation to Renoir in Guernsey, 1883.

Tickets to the fine art exhibition at Guernsey Museums at Candie will retail at £10 for adults and £5 for children and students in full-time education. We would be extremely grateful if you would consider purchasing £5 tickets for Renoir in Guernsey, 1883, which we would give to educational establishments which would like to take their pupils to see the exhibition.

The exhibition at Guernsey Museum at Candie will include an ‘Inclusivity Wall’ where, unless they prefer to remain anonymous, we will put the names of any individual or business who donates over £500.
